Visit the Koalas

There are no wild koalas in Western Australia so if you want to see these amazing marsupials Yanchep National Park is a great place to visit. You can usually spot up to 10 koalas high up in the gum trees. There is a designated board walk to guide you around the trees.

Cave Tour

Yanchep has a huge underground cave system with no less than 400 different caves. It’s a fascinating world underground and a great place to hide from the heat.

Camp

Yanchep National Park is a tranquil place to spend the night. It is a happy medium between bush camping and a caravan park. Wild enough to be surrounded by kangaroos and native birds but with solid toilets and showers provided.

The Henry White Oval has 10 grassed sites each separated with cute picket fences and 10 hard sites for vans and caravans. Book here.

Yanchep is also a great a spot to star gaze.

Top tip: Take a walk to visit the koalas at night time when they are most active.

Kangaroos

Yanchep National Park is home to mobs of western grey kangaroos. They can be found grazing throughout the park.

Picnic

There are so many picnic spots to choose from throughout the park. Opt for a shaded spot next to the lake or make use of the BBQs provided.

If you didn’t bring a picnic, instead have a casual lunch on the terrace overlooking the lake at Yanchep Inn.

Segways

Put your skills to the test and try out a Segway circuit or park tour at Easy Rider Adventures.

Walking trails

The park has multiple walking trails to choose from. An easy option being the 2.7 km Wetlands Walk around Loch McNess.

If you are more of a hiker there are many hikes to choose from. The shortest being just 500 meters all the way up to a 46km trail.
